Weight Check Up

Good News our little lady gained!
2 weeks ago: 13.5 lbs = 8% percentile
Yesterday: 14.5 lbs = 14% percentile

Things are looking up. The doc said we need her to continue gaining, but the fact that she gained one pound in two weeks is very good. The extreme weight lost could have been caused by her being a sick and by her increased activity/mobility. The Dr. would like to her percentile to be closer to 30% or more.

She has moved up on her hands and knees and is starting to sway, but not yet moving. She is rolling around and scooting. She LOVES her walker as you can see in the video below. Thank goodness for our tile floors. She is holding herself longer and better everyday in sitting position. I guess now its time for her to actually sit up by herself and start crawling or military crawl. Elliana is so fun! She is laughing at us, Mya and even herself. I'm really loving her ability to interact. She is a riot. She loves playing keep away...where I will hold a toy or something and she will reach for it and I will pull it away...she thinks it is hilarious.

She is eating both rice cereal and baby oatmeal. We have implemented carrots, sweet peas, applesauce and bananas to her diet. Every week we will try something new. Plus her yummy formula! At 9 months (April 11) we can start her on normal bite size food.

Thanks for all the caring phone calls and text messages yesterday! Our baby girl is doing wonderfully!

Elliana Video

This is a video of Elliana and her new blocks.

P.S. That is Mya growling in the background and yes she is a crazy dog, but she loves Elliana very much. They are best buddies!

Update

6 Month stats
Weight: 13.8 lbs
8%

Height:26-1/4in
70%

Head: 16-1/2
34%

Sorry for the delay in getting these out to everyone. Well, Elliana is perfect, other than that fact that theres been little weight gain. She didn't gain a single pound between her 4 month check up and her 6 month check up, which put up a red flag. She eats great and loves her rice cereal, oatmeal, carrots, peas and apple sauce. The doctor mentioned that this could something as simple as her having little virus, teething, being very active or it could be a bigger issue. We have to take her back on the 27th to get weighed again. If she has gained even a little we won't have to see the doctor until her 9 month apt...if she hasn't gained any weight, then she will have to get a few different test done. So, keep your fingers crossed that she gains some weight by the 27th!

I found some cheap tickets on a whim and took a weekend trip to Colorado Jan. 16-19. It was really fun. I surprised most of my family. My mom and dad got to bond with there grand daughter. It was a very laid back weekend. I wasn't able to visit or get in touch with everyone while I was there, but there is always next time.

Elliana had her second tooth come in. So, she has two pearly whites on the bottom. Other good news is my cousin Ashley gave birth to a healthy baby boy (Lucas Franklin Whitt) on Jan. 12, 2009.

6 Months Old Today!

Today is Aunt Kelly's (Ryan's sister) birthday. Happy Birthday....hope you have great day...WE LOVE YOU!

Elliana is doing absolutely wonderful. She can sit on her own (well, for short periods of time before she falls to the side). Her tooth is becoming more and more visible. She is talking with a lot goos and gahs! She is rolling around everywhere and scooting forward inch by inch. Can't wait to see what the next 6 months bring!

2009

Happy 2009 to you all! Gosh...is it already Jan. 7th? Well, I thought I should recap our holidays for everyone. We traveled to Michigan Dec. 21-31. It was wonderful. Elliana got lots of love and family time. I celebrated my 30th birthday (even though I still feel like I am in my early twenties). I thought with age that you were suppose to get wiser and more mature...guess that isn't the cause for all of us..hehe. Our flight returned to Las Vegas at 3ish on New Year's Eve. After finally getting Elli to bed we sat on the couch, drank some wine and rang in the new year watching TV! I guess that is were the age is catching up with us! While we were gone a co-worker of Ryan's graciously house & doggie sat. Couldn't believe how much we missed Mya. It was nice to cuddle with her New Year's Eve.

We had a wonderful start to the New Year when Elliana got her first tooth New Years Day! She has been a bit fussy, but we're not sure if it's from teething, getting off schedule from traveling or not getting the attention (like when we were in Michigan). Honestly, she is still a happy little girl. While we were in Michigan we baptized Elliana on December 28th (as you can see from the pictures below). She was AMAZING. Didn't make a peep other than one or two goo's and was happy when the water was poured over her head. Her eating habits have been goofy since Michigan. While we were there she was eating a TON. Normally, she eats 4 ounces of formula every 3 hours with rice cereal in the morning and before bed. There she was downing 6 to 8 ounces each eating and rice cereal w/ applesauce in the morning & rice cereal w/peas at night. She has reverted back to the 4 ounces of formula each feeding but has been refusing the rice cereal & peas. This morning she FINALLY ate all her rice cereal again...hopefully we are getting back on track.

2009 brings lots of travel & guests for us this year (better take advantage while Elliana can fly free...yes we are cheapo's - hehe). We will be going to Michigan again in June for Kelly (Ryan's sister) & Blake's wedding and to Wisconsin in September for Jason (Ryan's brother) & Nicole's wedding and hopefully to Colorado for the holiday's. 2009 is already flashing before my eyes! In April we are having some of Ryan's family visit for Spring Break and in June or July my folks will visit (maybe Elli's first birthday). Who knows, there may be some surprise visits in between. Elliana will be 6 months this coming Sunday. Her check up with the pediatrician is on the 13th and we'll follow up with pictures and a full report.
