Baby Name Update

I want to thank those of you who've taken the time to vote on which baby name you like. When we first decided to start this poll we figured it would be up for a while before we made any decisions. However, after learning that Eleanor represents both sides of our families we decided that this had to be a part of our daughters name. Eleanor was my great grandma's first name as well as Angela's great grandma's first name and her mothers middle name. With that said, we would like to open the polls again. If possible could everyone re-vote and leave a comment to this message on what your favorite name is. I'm sure in the near future we will be changing the poll again, so if you have any other names that should be up for consideration please feel free to let us know.

***Remember, the baby's name is always up for sale***

P.S. - I challenge you to look at this picture and tell me that our baby girl won't be the cuttest little thing ever!

The Name Game

So, after all the excitement of finding out that we are having a girl now comes the hard part, choosing a name. At this point it is the hardest thing because Ryan is a hard one to please when it comes to name selection...ha ha. Thanks goodness for Tim & Nicole because we've been bouncing ideas off of them for a few days now.

As you see we have put a voting poll to the right so we can get family and friends input. If it would have been a boy we had narrowed it down to a few names....but with a girl we had no idea. I thought I would give you a little history about why we've narrowed it down to these six combination (maybe more in the future). No matter what the sex was, we found it important to implement an element of family into the name. Luciana (pronunciation: Loo-see-on-ah) is combination of my Nana's first name and my Grandma Gomes' middle name. NOTE: I am aware I have adjusted spellings and they're not identical. I felt the easier for the little girl the better.

Eleanor is my great grandmother's and my mom's middle name. Ryan liked the twist of adding the "A" at the end of Eleanor...making it Eleanora. Marie is my middle name. Mathilda is my Grandma Gomes' first name. The names Isabella, Madelyn & Mirabella are names that we have liked and thought we would throw them into the selection. Isabella means God is my Oath and beautiful. Madelyn means woman of Magdala. Mirabella means admirable, wonderous and beautiful. The last name of course will be Morris carried on from Ryan.

So, we look froward to seeing everyone vote. No guarantees that we are sticking with any of these, but they are our initial choices.

Update on Nicole...I know many of you have asked...she is doing very well. Like we all expected Tim & her are amazing parents. They are naturals. Noah is a DOLL! Such a good baby. It is so, wonderful to be able to share in the growing of their new family. Besides it's good training for us.

Better get going...Love ya'all!

One More Day

So, tomorrow is the day of truth. We get our sonogram. I can't explain how anxious we are. Just to know the baby is developing normal and of course, to find out the gender. This will be the first UltraSound we've had since I was 6-1/2 weeks. I do hear the heartbeat on the dobbler at every appt. and baby mo's ticker seems to been doing good (the doctor hasn't said anything so, that has to be a good sign). They will also check my cervix. Because of my procedure in April '07, I have a high possiblity of having to get my cervix sewn, YUCK. This will prevent early delievery and potentially having to go on bed rest. I just hope I don't have to do any of that.

This last week has been an AMAZING week. Feb. 13, Nicole had a beautiful baby boy. He was born at 6:41 pm. I am pretty sure he (but may be corrected) was 7lbs 8 ounces and 19-1/2 in long. Noah Laurence Johnson, is an adorable little boy. She went through a tramatic labor but thankfully she and baby are doing wonderful now. Tim & her are already fabulous parents. Then a dear friend April got engaged. SO EXCITING!!! Then my good friend Kendra finalized her wedding date and asked me to be a part of it. I was so honored. I'm just so thrilled for all my friend's WONDERFUL news this week. It really has been such an extrordinary week. On top of that I booked a flight to Portlant to visit Erica, another friend I have been so delinquant at keeping in touch with. I am really in route to having a great year. Things have been really going well. Now, if the economy and housing market pick up that would be icing on the cake. But geez I am sure asking for a lot these days.

On top of all that exciting stuff Ryan's dad (Mike) and two uncles (Dan & Mike) came out for the weekend. The four guys did so much in 3 days. They golfed everyday. Ryan took them to a Vegas hotspot, MIXX where they enjoyed the view and had some cocktails. We all grab some good meals at some local pubs. They held Wii bowling championships every night. We attended a Las Vegas Wranglers game. The Wranglers are the "minor" league hockey team in Vegas. I think we all had a good visit. Ryan and I were watching Louie & Bailey (Nicole & Tim's pups) and they sure got there share of attention from us all. The dogs even Mya, just rotated around our laps getting some lovin' and play time.

Anyways, I'll try to post more tomorrow or the next day.

Till the next time: The COUNTDOWN is on!

Hall of Fame

An update is well needed here. Sorry, but I have definitely neglected my duties of blogging the last couple weeks. To catch you all up Ry & I went to Michigan for his Hall of Fame ceremony. It has been over a year since I have been to Michigan and spent time with extended family. It was nice to visit. We had a pleasant surprise of snow fall on the Friday we got there. It was cold but it was a nice change from Vegas. I must be mental but I love snow! We had a little drama with Ryan’s luggage, but it all worked out in the end. It was a good trip. I know Ryan had a GREAT time!
The Tuesday we returned (Feb. 5), I had an appt. and everything is looking good. The baby is sitting fairly low, but should start moving upward as my uterus starts moving more out of my pelvic. The heart beat was between the 150’s/160’s…so, things are good. The baby is sitting right on my bladder and at times he/she won’t let me go potty. It's pretty painful so, the doc said to just try and relax, adjust and lean forward which will relieve temporary pressure so, I can at least go. Ryan got really sick with the flu and wasn’t able to join me. He was bummed because he hadn’t missed an appointment before this. I have gained 13 pounds…I was kind of freaking out but I know that is all part of pregnancy. The weather out here has really taken a turn for the better. IT HAS BEEN BEAUTIFUL. Nice breeze, upper 60’s…perfect. I have started walking again. Been taking Mya to the dog park and she loves it. Not that I'm that bad of an eater but I am really trying to make an effort to make better food choices and control my portions. I don’t want to be a fatty. Keeping up with my water intake really is helping me control my hunger too.

Well, this coming week is a BIG week. Feb. 12, my best friend Nicole is getting induced. I was able to take off a couple days to help out and be there. I am very, very excited! Then Thursday, Ryan’s dad (Mike) and two uncles (Mike & Dan) are coming out for a golf trip. Luckily for me I will have FOUR Valentines this year! Hehe.

10 days from today is the BIG appointment. I am just hoping and praying that the baby is doing great and is healthy. At this appointment they check the heartbeat and make sure it is developing normal. They take measurements of the baby and see if he/she is growing normal. We also, will get a due date (since I have the range now) and most exciting find out the sex (if little Baby Mo cooperates).

Until, next time! Bon voyage…
