4 Months Old
Can you BELIEVE it...Elliana Marie is 4 months? We visited our pediatrician, Dr. McGhee (who I LOVE) today and he said Elliana is looking great. He's an awesome doctor who sits down with us, takes his time in explaining things, answers my dumb questions and is overall a great people person.
Her stats:
12 lbs 10.5 oz (28%)
25 in long (78%)
16 in head (41%)
She is 100% on formula now and the doc said we could start her on rice cereal/baby food between now and 6 months. He said it is up to us.

Proud American
I usually don’t vocalize my opinion to much when it comes to things like this, but I am just so over joyed with Americans that I have to express myself.
As many of you know I am a republican. My foundation has been built on republican beliefs. I guess if you talk to my Grandpa Gomes or my dad, then you think I am liberal…but if there is such a thing as a liberal republican…that is me. I was taught never to discuss politics…ESPECIALLY in my family. I have mastered being neutral and really trying to listen and understand both sides. This I felt came to my benefit in this election. I truly believe both candidates are AMAZING men who care about the well being of our country. McCain & Obama expressed this in there touching speeches last night. Anyway, enough about left versus right and my foundation, I am writing this to express how proud I am of ALL AMERICANS. Many have fought for our democracy & freedom and people honored their right and voted in record numbers this election…it made me so proud. I have a passion for politics and America. Yes, there are hiccups in our system sometimes…BUT overall it works. I believe in America. We all don’t agree, there aren’t always the perfect candidates, but being a United States Citizen is amazing. We haven’t seen a voter turn-out like this since 1908. I often questioned if people really understand our rights as Americans, or if they just took it for granted. Yesterday they proved they didn’t by just caring and voting.
The hope that the American dream instills in all citizens brings a tear to my eye. The pride I felt during last night watching AMERICANS demonstrate their rights was breath taking.
On top of all this we have crossed boundaries this year supporting a female democratic nominee & vice president nominee to electing a multicultural man. We have broken stereotypes about the US leaders for here on out. This is WHAT America is and I am ecstatic about what the future holds in 77 days to decades from now. We may actually see in our lifetime, a female president or Mexican American or Asian American president. America is a salad bowl of people, beliefs, lifestyles, etc.
I am so excited to teach Elliana the American pride, rights and the future she she can make herself!
Thank you to everyone for voting and demonstrating your right as an AMERICAN.
