33 Weeks And Counting

Here are some quick pictures of my belly. We are inching closer and closer. I have to say that I am pretty thankful because Las Vegas is breaking weather record LOW'S! Instead of its usual 100's this time of year it has been in the 80's. YEAH. It's suppose to continue between the 80's & mid 90's through the next week. Every little COOL bit of weather helps (especially with my ankles looking like apples). Went to the doc on Friday and things are looking good. Just need to start drinking LOTS of water. Since my feet are swelling and the heat is increasing she wants my water intake to increase and I really need to limit the sodium in my diet. Other than that things are good. Elliana's head is down and she's ready to go. She has been sitting right smack in the middle (which isn't very common but still okay). Most babies pick a side to lean. Her little tush is pressing out on my belly and she is looking in. So, let's hope she stays in the position through delievery.

Hope you all had a great Memorial day!

7 weeks & 3 days to go till D-DAY

So, I have lots to share this time around. A lot has been going on the last two weeks. First, Nicole & Kendra threw me a fun co-ed baby shower. They made yummy pulled pork sandwiches, cole slaw, pasta salads and all kinds of snacks. We had friends old and new that live here in Vegas celebrate with us for the coming of Elliana. Elliana will definitely be sporting some nice fashions her first 6 months. She has received some ADORABLE newborn through six months outfits. Mom can't wait to dress her. It was perfect weather so, the fellas watched some golf and played darts in the garage. Ryan takes good care of keeping "HIS" garage in tip top shape...since, he says that is the only place in the house that is his space. He jokes that I have taken over all the house...haha!
The same weekend of my Vegas shower was Mother's Day and for a gift I got my mom a flight to share the weekend with me. We RARELY get to spend quality mother/daughter time anymore and obviously being pregnant I have been PFENNIG for some good QT with mama. We enjoyed a mother's day brunch on Sunday at the Country club where Ryan works...it was very fancy! Overall, it was to short visit but definitely a well needed bonding weekend.

We are still attending birthing classes weekly...we have two more to go. Our last being May 31. We are skipping this weekend due to scheduling conflicts with the other couple in our classes. The classes are helping. We have learned all about labor and all the different things that can happen. She teaches us breathing and mediation skills to help redirect the pain. Really, the class is to prepare you for EVERYTHING that could occur.

I wanted to include the link for the hospital we are registered at

You can take a tour of the maternity rooms and learn all this fun stuff (if you care) about were we are delivering. I know some people have asked the address, so here ya go:
St. Rose Dominican Hospital -Siena Campus
3001 St. Rose Pkwy, Henderson, NV 89052 (702)616-5000

Enjoy all the pictures! I have been feeling good and baby is moving a lot. Starting to get hot here and the feet are starting to swell. Nothing to worry to much about. Next Doctors appt. is next Friday, May 23!

Colorado Baby Shower

So here are just a few of the pictures Mama Gomes (soon to be Grandma Gomes AKA GIGI) took at the baby shower. It was so great to be home. Can you believe after 11 years or so I still call Colorado home? I really don't think I will ever stop. My life in Vegas is nothing short of amazing with great friends, loving husband, beautiful house, crazy dog and a fabulous job, but there is always something to be missed when your away from family and old friends. I am a lucky gal that's all I can say. As I say in most of my blog postings ...HOLY CANNOLI is it really May already . Where does the time go? Ryan and I are both super busy at work. These next two weeks are going to be a dozy for both of us. We have been going through the trials of planning our schedules. From our work appointments to other personal appointments. This week is exciting though. My mom is coming in town for the weekend, Ryan's long time friends Brian & Katrina will be in town. And last but not least Nicole & Kendra are hosting a baby shower/BBQ for close friends who live in town. We are doing a co-ed bbq party. Very excited!

BABY Update: We have an appt. on Friday afternoon, but at birthing classes last Saturday I was able to get hooked up to the fetal monitor and Elliana was doing great. I will be 31 weeks on Thursday. Next Wednesday we are having our initial meeting with a Pediatrician. We have been slowly organizing the nursery. We hope to have things put away and everything set up by next weekend. If I meet my goal I will post some pictures.

Earth Day

So, Earth day has come and gone and I hope everyone implemented a change in their life that will benefit not only the earth, but also help Elliana live in a better environment.

Anyways, yesterday I had a doctors appt. I took the YUMMY glucose test...an overly sugar drink (just like how Ryan makes Koolaid) and you have to chug it in 3 minutes...YUCK! Then you get to wait around for an hour so they can take your blood to see if you may have gestational diabetes. I won't have my results for a few days so keep your fingers crossed that I don't have to go back for additional testing. I also found out that I DON'T have to get the RH shot. Because Ryan is a negative blood type & I am positive I thought I might, but luckily I don't. YEAH! I have to say this past appointment might have been one of my favorites. The baby is head first and very active. The ticker is still pumping the way it should be. I still need to be careful of my weight but I am doing good. Plus, we scheduled the rest of my appointments up till my due date...that was pretty exciting for me! The doc said Elliana was a little chunky monkey but with 11 more weeks to go she will be fine. Ryan told Doctor Burns that he had some money down on how much our baby would weight, so he needed her assessment. She went with 7 pounds 12 ounces...so this may help all of you with the GUESSING! As you may of seen, we've added a new GUESSING tool to the blog. Please click on the ExpectNet.com logo to put in your guess of date, time, length and weight Miss Elliana will be born at. Many have asked for mine and Ryan's birth details. I was born 7lbs9oz , 21 inches long at 10:08 pm. Ryan was 7lbs10oz, 20-1/4 inches long at 9:42 am. GOOD Luck in your guessing!

The Morris family came out for their Spring Break. It is always nice to spend time with family. Ryan took them on a hiking adventure. Luckily, Las Vegas treated them with some nice weather and they treated us with some good eats!

This weekend (April 24-27), I am headed to Colorado for a baby shower. I am really looking forward to the trip. It seems like I haven't been home in forever. Yes, I still consider Colorado home! It has been tough being away from my mom and dad during this process. I think we chat 2 to 3 times a day, at least. All in all this will be a great visit. Friends, family, pampering and celebration. What else could a gal ask for?

Nicole is planning a shower here is Vegas on May 10th with local friends. That is mother's day weekend...so I surprised my mom by buying her a flight out here. I think she is pretty excited for the quick trip and that she will be able to be here for the gathering.

Ryan had the fun excitement of taking Mya to the vet this week for her annual exam. Mya is doing great. She got her nails trimmed and she has lost a few ounces :). I had to include a picture since I think she is the cutest pup ever!

*** NEWS FLASH ***

So without further ado...we've FINALLY decided on a name for our lovely baby girl (we just couldn't wait any longer)

...drum roll please....

Elliana Marie Morris!
Pronunciation: (El-LEE-AH-NA)

Please keep all negative opinions to yourself...hahahah! I know many of you are excited that we have decided on a name and not to wait till she was born. Your welcome!

There are a couple of reasons for choosing this name. First, because we both really like it and agreed on it. Second, it represents many aspects of our families and where Baby Morris comes from. Elli represents Eleanor (my mom and great grandma's name and Ryan's great grandma's name on the West side of the family). Then "ana" represents my Grandma Gomes's middle name and Ryan's Grandma Pat's first name. Even though we are spelling it with one "N" we still felt it represents the family.

We are SO excited to finally have decided on a name.

Be prepared because Little Elli will be here soon!

Hope you all like it!

Spring Fever

Hello everyone....can you believe how time is flying! Can't get over that we are already in April. Baby Morris will be here in just a few more months. Anyway, sorry for the delay in writing... but where did the last two weeks go?

Easter was really calm. We went to Kendra's house for an Easter Brunch. Her fiance Brock, mom (Augusta) and dad (Nick) were all there. We just chatted, ate and watched lots of basketball. Here is little pic for your viewing pleasure.
As I've mentioned in previous blogs we are having UNBELIEVABLE weather out here (knock on wood). I have been trying to take advantage of it as much as possible. Taking walks, sitting outside, having BBQ's, etc. As you can see here are a couple of pics of this last Friday's festivities at the house. Exciting times!
April 1 we had a doctors appt. (seriously we did...haha). I am doing well. The baby is doing well. I still need to be careful of my weight but things are looking good. Now that I am going into my 3rd trimester, my appts. have been moved to every 3 weeks and soon they will be every two weeks. By my next appt. (April 22) we need to have a hospital picked out. So, I have been busy setting up tours and finding out when I can register. We also registered for our birthing classes that will start on April 19. I've been researching pediatricians and Ryan is researching daycare & nanny options. Both of us are in our busy seasons at work, so our schedules have been booked and we've been extremely BUSY as of late. April will be over before we know it!

Well, there is our update for now. I will try to do this weekly.

PS. I think we are finally down to 6 names! We changed it around again...VOTE!

St. Patrick's Day

Hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's day. Things are chugging along out here. I am feeling well and so is Ryan (he he...don't want him to feel left out). I must say I am over the Vegas spring winds (but it was 80 today!). I think LOTS of people, not only myself, are suffering from allergy & sinus symptoms. Hope it goes away soon.

Lately, we've been spending a lot of time with Nicole & Tim (not that, that is out of the ordinary). Noah is already over a month old! He is such a good baby! Keeping my fingers crossed baby Morris is as chill as he is. With both Kendra & April getting married, Nicole & I have been joining in on the wedding planning stuff. Ryan & I are waiting for our crazy month of April. Work is really picking up for us both.

As you can see we put up some more names for people to vote on. We've pretty much narrowed it down to about 7 or 8 names, but might not choose her name until she's born. So, if you want to keep giving us your opinions we'll listen.

Well, that's about it. Sorry we're kind of boring this week.... Hopefully we'll have more to report on in the next few days.
